a journal is a wonderful way to capture spontaneous bursts of inspiration. pages are often torn, ink is smudged, tape is applied. these personal touches add to the raw and organic process of creation. mark borthwick’s “not in fashion” embodies just this. the retrospective is filled with hand written notes, poems, drawings, polaroids, and pops of color. the result: a beautiful window into the artist’s mind.
